PSL 2027: Dates, Teams, Auction and Everything Confirmed So Far

PSL 2027, officially called HBL PSL 12, will be played from 18 March to 2 May 2027. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the window on 8 October 2026. All eight franchises return, and Peshawar Zalmi start as defending champions after winning PSL 2026.

The full match schedule, venues, auction date and ticket details have not been announced yet. This page lists only what PCB has confirmed, marks everything else as pending, and is updated as soon as new PSL 2027 news comes out.

PSL 2027 at a Glance

When Will PSL 2027 Start?

PSL 2027 will start on Thursday, 18 March 2027, and the final will be played on Sunday, 2 May 2027. So if you are asking "PSL 2027 kab hoga" or "PSL 2027 kab start hoga", the answer is the third week of March 2027.

The dates were set after a PSL Governing Council meeting in London on 1 September 2026, attended by the owners and representatives of all eight franchises. PCB then consulted stakeholders and announced the window on 8 October 2026.

PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi said PSL 11 showed the world what the league is capable of and that PSL 12 will raise the bar further. PSL chief executive Salman Naseer called the announcement the first step towards the new season.

The date of the first match, the two teams playing it and its venue have not been announced. They will come with the full fixture list.

Why Is PSL 2027 in March and Not January?

From 2016 to 2024, the PSL was played in February and March. In 2025, ICC events pushed the league to April and May, and since then it has been played after Ramadan. A January to February window was discussed for 2027, but a majority of the eight franchises chose March to May when PCB asked for their preference.

Three reasons were reported for staying with March to May:

• Ramadan: Ramadan 2027 is expected to run from early February to early March. The league's broadcast partner argued that advertisers spend most of their budget during Ramadan, so a post-Ramadan window earns more.
• Winter fog: Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi are in Punjab, where fog in January can cut visibility and wash out matches.
• Knockouts: Playing playoff matches inside Ramadan would be difficult for players and fans.

Will PSL 2027 Clash With the IPL?

Yes, PSL 2027 is expected to overlap with the IPL for the third season in a row. The IPL normally runs from late March to late May, although IPL 2027 dates are not official yet.

The clash matters most for overseas players. Big names with IPL contracts will usually choose the IPL, so PSL franchises will rely more on Pakistani stars and on overseas players who are not picked in the IPL.

PSL 2027 Schedule and Fixtures

PCB has confirmed only the tournament window so far. The match-by-match fixtures, match timings and the venue for each game have not been released.

Be careful with websites that already show a full "PSL 2027 fixtures" list with dates and teams. Until PCB publishes the official schedule, any such list is a guess.

Here is what we can expect if PCB keeps the 2026 format, although this is not confirmed for 2027:

• 44 matches in total: 40 league matches and 4 playoff matches
• 10 league matches for each team
• Top four teams go to the playoffs: Qualifier, Eliminator 1, Eliminator 2 and the Final

The 2027 window is longer than last year. PSL 2026 ran from 26 March to 3 May, which is 39 days, while PSL 2027 has 46 days. That should mean fewer double-header days and more rest between matches.

PCB has not announced captains for 2027, so the table shows each team's 2026 captain and where they finished in last season's league stage.

Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars have won the most PSL titles, three each. Peshawar Zalmi won their second title in 2026, nine years after their first in 2017.

PSL 2027 New Teams: Hyderabad Kingsmen and Rawalpindiz

There are no new teams in PSL 2027. The "new teams" people search for are the two sides that joined when the league grew from six to eight teams in 2026, and PCB has not announced any further expansion for 2027.

• Hyderabad Kingsmen were picked as the seventh team in the expansion auction in January 2026, owned by FKS Group. They reached the final in their very first season.
• Rawalpindiz came from a change of ownership. When the old Multan Sultans agreement was not renewed, Walee Technologies bought that franchise, moved it and renamed it Rawalpindiz.
• Multan Sultans continued under new owners. Sialkot had been picked as the eighth team, and its owners sold the franchise to CD Ventures, which brought back the Multan Sultans name.

Rawalpindiz had a hard first season with one win in ten matches, so they will be one of the teams to watch in the PSL 2027 auction.

PSL 2027 Auction, Retentions and Trade Window

PCB has confirmed that a player auction will be held before PSL 2027, but the auction date has not been announced. Before the auction, PCB says it will announce:

1. Direct signings
2. Player retentions
3. A trade window
4. The player auction

Some social media posts claim the auction will be in December 2026. PCB has not confirmed any date, and we will add it here the day it is announced.

Is There a PSL 2027 Draft?

No. The PSL replaced its old draft system with a player auction in 2026, the first auction in the league's history. So searches for "PSL 2027 draft" or "PSL 2027 draft date" now point to the auction.

Retention Rules Carried Over From PSL 2026

The rules announced for the first auction in 2026 also shape PSL 2027:

• Two-year contracts: every player signed for PSL 2026 got a two-year deal, so most of last season's squads can continue into 2027.
• Up to seven retentions: after PSL 2026, each team can retain up to seven players.
• Grand auction after PSL 2027: a bigger auction is planned after PSL 12, where teams can keep only five players.

In 2026, each team had a purse of PKR 45 crore, which could go up to PKR 50.5 crore to sign one overseas player who did not play in the previous PSL. Players were placed in four base-price groups: PKR 4.2 crore, 2.2 crore, 1.1 crore and 0.6 crore. PCB has not yet confirmed the purse or price groups for 2027.

PSL 2027 Squads and Players

No team has announced its PSL 2027 squad yet. Because players signed in 2026 are on two-year contracts, most of last season's squads will carry over unless a team releases or trades a player.

The first official squad news will be the retention lists, followed by direct signings and the auction. Once those are out, we will publish every team's full squad, with Pakistani and overseas players.

The IPL clash will shape the overseas picks again. Teams are likely to build around Pakistani players and sign overseas stars who are free in March and April.

PSL 2027 Venues

PCB has not announced the PSL 2027 venues, the venue of the opening match or the venue of the final. It said venues will be confirmed later with the schedule.

Since the league moved fully to Pakistan in 2020, Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi have been its main host cities. In 2026, matches were limited to Lahore and Karachi because of fuel-saving measures. Games started behind closed doors, and fans were allowed back for the playoffs and the final.

The 2026 final at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, drew a record crowd of 32,461.

PSL 2027 Format and Points Table

PCB has not confirmed the PSL 2027 format yet. In 2026, the eight teams were split into two virtual groups of four. Each team played the teams in its own group twice and the teams in the other group once, for ten league matches each.

A win gave 2 points and a no-result gave 1 point. The top four went into a page playoff system:

1. Qualifier: 1st vs 2nd. The winner goes straight to the final.
2. Eliminator 1: 3rd vs 4th. The loser is knocked out.
3. Eliminator 2: loser of the Qualifier vs winner of Eliminator 1.
4. Final: winner of the Qualifier vs winner of Eliminator 2.

PSL 2026 Recap: How Peshawar Zalmi Won PSL 11

Peshawar Zalmi beat debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in the final at Gaddafi Stadium on 3 May 2026. It was their second PSL title and ended a nine-year wait since their first in 2017.

• Babar Azam (Peshawar Zalmi): 588 runs at an average of 73.50, the most in the season. He equalled Fakhar Zaman's record for most runs in one PSL season and hit two centuries. He was out for a duck in the final, one run short of breaking the record outright.
• Sufiyan Muqeem (Peshawar Zalmi): 22 wickets with best figures of 4/32, the most in the season. He was named Player of the Tournament.

During the season, Babar also became the first batter to score 4,000 runs in PSL history.

PSL 2027 Team Outlook Based on 2026 Form

Squads are not final, but last season's results show where each team starts. Three teams finished on 10 points in 2026, and net run rate alone decided the last playoff place, so small gains in the auction can change the top four.

• Peshawar Zalmi: The defending champions won 8 of their 10 league games. With Babar Azam and Sufiyan Muqeem, the season's top run-scorer and top wicket-taker, they start PSL 2027 as the team to beat.
• Islamabad United: They finished 2nd in the league but lost both the Qualifier and Eliminator 2. As three-time champions, they will want to turn league form into a title.
• Multan Sultans: Under new owners CD Ventures, they finished 3rd, then lost Eliminator 1 to Hyderabad by 8 wickets.
• Hyderabad Kingsmen: They finished 4th, then won both Eliminators to reach the final in their debut season. Repeating that run is their 2027 challenge.
• Lahore Qalandars: They finished level on 10 points with Hyderabad but missed the playoffs on net run rate. They are also three-time champions.
• Karachi Kings: Also on 10 points, they missed out with the weakest net run rate of the three teams tied on 10.
• Quetta Gladiators: They won only 3 of 10 matches, so retentions and the auction matter a lot for them.
• Rawalpindiz: They finished last with one win in ten games, and the PSL 2027 auction is their biggest chance to rebuild.

Where to Watch PSL 2027 Live

The TV channels and streaming apps for PSL 2027 have not been announced. Walee Technologies holds the PSL broadcast rights until 2029, and the official broadcast partners for PSL 12 are expected before the season starts.

There are no PSL 2027 live matches before 18 March 2027. From that day, today's match details and channel information will be added to this site.

PSL 2027 Tickets

PSL 2027 tickets are not on sale yet. PCB said ticketing details will be announced later, along with the venues.

When sales open, buy only through the official ticket partner that PCB names. Avoid people selling "PSL 2027 tickets" on social media before the official sale, as those are often fake.

PSL 2027 Logo, Trophy and Prize Money

PCB has not revealed a new PSL 12 logo, trophy design or prize money for 2027. We will add them here as soon as they are released.
